Questionaire Results Analysis

My questionaire about music magazines that I constructed as part of my research into music magazines has told me a considerable amount of information about what an audience looks for in a music magazine.

 Firstly I found out that older audiences tend to be less interested in modern music and do not tend to buy music magazines as often as younger audiences. In relation to older audiences, younger audiences are much more interested in modern music and buy more music magazines than older audiences (older audiences as such as people aged 30+). Because of this information that I have gathered my target audience for my music magazine will be teenagers and young adults.

Secondly my questionnaire told me that exclusive articles are a big selling point for many people is exclusive articles. Many people ticked the articles box on the questionnaire but further wrote "exclusive" or something else relating to an exclusive article on the lines below. Because of this I will make sure that on the front cover of my music magazine there will be something relating to an exclusive article. Furthermore over 90% of the people who answered the questionnaire regardless of gender said that the front cover of a magazine does influence them into buying or not buying the magazine. In response to this information I will include some form of exclusive article advertised on the front cover to appeal to my target audience. Furthermore because my research indicates that the audience can be persuaded to buy the magazine because of the front cover I will ensure that there are a reasonable amount of advertisements to draw the audience in and tempt them into buying the magazine.

My research also tells me that 91% of my audience think that £5.00 plus is a reasonable price for a music magazine. Because of this I will price my magazine at £5.00 to further make the magazine appealing to the audience as this is a price that they consider fair. I will also advertise the price on the front cover of my magazine. Furthermore 70% of the people who took part in the questionnaire said that they would not be interested in a subscription to a magazine. Because of this I will not advertise a subscription to my magazine within my product. Also 100% of people who took part said that they would be interested in free music downloads and exclusive content. Therefore I will include some form of freebee in my magazine to attract the target audience. I will further advertise this freebee on the front cover as my research indicates that the front cover can persuade people to buy or not to buy a magazine.
Finally 60% of my audience said that they prefer monthly magazines to weekly so I will therefore make my magazine a monthly magazine to appeal to the audience.
